Frequently Asked Questions1. What/Who is Parrot? How are you different from a corporate store?- Parrot is an employee owned company that operates approximately 75 wireless retail stores under the AT&T brand in northern and central California. The primary difference between us and a corporate store is the ownership. Just as it is hard to tell the difference between franchised McDonald's restaurants and those owned by McDonald's, our stores as well as those owned by AT&T Corporation are very similar. We offer the same high quality handsets from all the leading manufacturers including Motorola, Apple, Samsung, LG and Pantech. In addition, we offer additional AT&T products including high speed internet, U-Verse TV and traditional landline service.
2. Can I pay my bill in store?- Yes! You can pay your bill with your credit/debit card and also with check by phone.
3. How much does it cost to add a line to my plan/account?- It costs as little as $9.99 per month to add a line to your FamilyTalk Plan. Come into your closest store for details.
4. What is U-verse? Can I get it where I live? - AT&T U-verse uses fiber optic technology and computer networking to bring you advanced television, high-speed Internet and digital home phone service. Geographic and service restrictions apply, so come into your nearest Parrot location to check your eligibility!
5. How can I tell if I'm eligible for an upgrade?- Come into your nearest Parrot location to check your upgrade eligibility.
6. What is your return policy on phones and accessories?- We have a 14 calendar day return policy on all phones and accessories as long as they are returned with all components in like-new condition. A $35 restocking fee applies to all handset returns/exchanges. iPads have a 14 day return policy and a 10% restocking fee applies.
7. How do I set up my voicemail?- Press and hold the "1" key on your phone and follow the instructions to set your voicemail up.
8. How do I access my voicemail?- Once your voicemail has been set up, press and hold "1" to access your voicemail on most phones.
9. Do I have to have Internet with a smartphone?- Yes, smartphones require a minimum $20 monthly data plan.
10. My phone is frozen, how do I fix it?- Most "frozen" phones can be fixed by simply pulling out the battery and then putting it back in. If that doesn’t do the trick, visit your nearest Parrot location for further assistance.
11. How do I check my minutes?- Dial *MIN# (*646#) from your wireless device.
- Press the SEND key.
- A text message detailing your minute usage will be sent to your phone.
- Note Minutes used represents an estimate of usage. Usage reports may take up to 5 days to post.
- Additional delays are possible for reports that include minutes used while roaming.
- During the time your invoice is being processed, you may not be able to view your usage.
12. How do I check my data & text messaging usage?- Dial *DATA# (*3282#) from your wireless device.
- Press the SEND key.
- A text message detailing your data usage will be sent to your phone.
- Note Data used represents an estimate of usage. Usage reports may take up to 5 days to post.
- Additional delays are possible for reports that include data used while roaming.
- During the time your invoice is being processed, you may not be able to view your usage.
13. How do I transfer my contacts from one phone to another?- Come into your nearest Parrot location, and we will be happy to transfer your numbers from one phone to another for free.
14. Why is my bill so high?- Come into your nearest Parrot location and we would be happy to give you a free rate plan analysis.
15. Why does my husband/wife/mom/dad have to be present for me to upgrade my phone?- To protect the account holder's privacy and maintain their best interest, we require the account holder to be present when any changes are made to an account or information is given out from the account.
16. How do I get my work discount added to my account?- Come into a Parrot location with proof of employment (name badge, paycheck stub, business card, e-mail address with work domain, etc.) and we will set up the discount for you. The discount is off of the primary line and certain features only and will take 1-2 bill cycles to show up on your bill.
17. What is 4G?- 4G means faster mobile broadband speeds - where data transfers take less time to complete. When combined with enhanced backhaul, AT&T's HSPA+ network is expected to enable speeds up to 4x faster than AT&T's already fast mobile broadband speeds.
